Messages from the Deputy First Minster and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills and HM Chief Inspector of Education
On 28 June 2016 John Swinney, the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills published the ‘Delivering Excellence and Equity in Scottish Education - A Delivery Plan for Scotland’. On 29 August, the Scottish Government and Education Scotland issued further advice for teachers.
The Delivery Plan outlines the steps the Scottish Government will take to achieve key improvements in education, building on the work contained in the National Improvement Framework. The suite of documents below provides clear, practical advice for teachers and practitioners on planning learning, teaching and assessment. This streamlined approach includes a definitive Statement on Curriculum for Excellence from HM Chief Inspector of Education and Benchmarks to support assessment in literacy/English and numeracy/mathematics.
